Magical Towns

Saranelly Mtz. • December 12, 2019

Something characteristic of Mexico is its beautiful places of tourism, but especially its Magical Towns.

In 2001, a program called “Magical Villages” was initiated in the Mexican Republic, which is developed by the Ministry of Tourism with the aim of promoting the traditions and gastronomy of these incredible and beautiful villages.

These places that over the years have managed to preserve their traditions, customs and gastronomy, are full of life, colors and flavors, not only for their architecture or food, but also for the people who inhabit them; These people who are mostly indigenous, work early to manufacture different products, such as handcrafts, and thus be able to support their families.

Gifts With a Purpose contributes directly to the economy of these artisans, since they manufacture and sell each handcraft themselves thus managing to preserve the customs of their ancestors.

Currently, Mexico has 121 Magical Towns which are cultural and historical heritage of Mexico, the State of Mexico and Puebla having the largest numbers.

Walking through its beautiful and colorful streets, sitting down to eat a delicious dish typical of the place, taking a photo for memory’s sake, makes visiting a magical town an unforgettable experience that you can take with you from Mexico.

It is undoubtedly a perfect option for vacations with your family. Getting to know a small part of the country, "Puebleando" as it is commonly called in Mexico.

Es muy curioso de hecho, que algo tan nuestro y tan mexicano como el Mariachi tenga un nombre que no proviene de alguna lengua indígena, ni del español antiguo, sino del francés.
